Main Street Improvement Initiative Update

On April 4, the Main Street Improvement Initiative Committee completed the paperwork and issued its first loan. The sole request to date came from a business in Melstone and was approved. It is hoped that with the coming of spring, more applications will be received.

The $100,000 in funds for this loan program were given to the Signal Peak Community Foundation last fall to institute a no-interest loan program for exterior improvements to Main Street businesses in Musselshell County. The loan program is administered by the Main Street Improvement Initiative Committee. Loans have a soft cap of $10,000, require no collateral, may be used as match for other funding, have no fees and the repayment schedule is flexible.

An account was set up at Valley Credit Union from which funds are disbursed. Applications and loan information may be obtained at either Valley Credit Union or the City Office.
