City Council chambers were abuzz the other night as community members filled the pews, waiting for their turn to speak. On the agenda were the transfer from Randy Hafer, High Plains Architects, of the Central School playground property to the city, issues of code violations in the city, enforcement of the boulevards, and site permits. Multiple citizens voiced praise for the old Central School playground. Several homeowners voiced concern for traffic and requested stop signs at busy intersections. The boulevards were discussed, a boulevard being that distance between the city street and the sidewalk. It is public property, and as such should not be littered with non-working vehicles, trailers and such. There was also an idea voiced for the city to enclose the city pool to make it usable year-round by everyone.
A thriving city is one where all voices are heard. Attend a city council meeting and observe your city government in action and voice your opinion.
