Roundup's First Welcome Center!
This is a big deal everyone. Our new kiosk will help visitors find their way around our little part of Montana.
So if you think that welcome kiosk is not important, think again. We should love tourists and the money they bring to our beautiful part of Montana. Tourism in Montana generated $5.45 billion last year. Tourism also brought down your average tax burden by an estimated $930.
Thanks to all who helped make this welcome center project a success!
(The figures come from ITTR - The Institute for Tourism and Recreation Research, through the University of Montana.)
Double the blessings
As I walked the other day, I began seeing double.
So I made a list:
2 grocery stores in Roundup - Picchioni's IGA for over a hundred years and Van Dyke's for over fifty years.
2 gas stations in Roundup - Conoco and Phillips 66 (the old Liberty)
2 financial institutions in Roundup- 1st Security Bank since 1971 and Valley Federal Credit Union, a Montana company since 1949
2 hair salons in Roundup - Michelle's Eastside and Alley Cut, both local shops
2 auto part stores in Roundup - O'Reilly's and CarQuest
2 local FM radio stations in Roundup - KLMB, 99.9 FM, popular music and local sports, and KQLJ, 105.5 FM Christian broadcasting
2 coffee/drink spots - The Fat Straw and the Coffee Corral
How blessed we really are here in Roundup to have these choices. Other small towns aren't this lucky. These are some of the reasons Roundup is a great place to live!
