The Musselshell Valley Historical Museum is open from May 1 – September 30 from 1-5 seven days a week. Our first fundraiser this year is a Cowboy Pancake Breakfast in the basement of the museum from 8:00 AM – 1:00 PM on Sunday May 5. Dan McCaffree is serving great Biscuits and Gravy and Scrambled eggs. We will also have pancakes, special syrups, fruit, juice and coffee. Come enjoy a good breakfast and some fellowship.
Many people did a lot of work in the museum this offseason to change exhibits, create new exhibits and improve your visit to the museum. Wilma Mihalovich and Norma Trent changed several of the displays containing clothing, including the dress shop. Marcia McCleary and Wilma Mihalovich did a great job creating our Klein display. We are showing quite a bit of Klein memorabilia. Serena Cottrell also worked on the taxidermy display on the second floor.
Eric Eliasson and Rob Mihalovich have done a nice job recreating the display in the Dino Depot. You can learn more about Aimee, the triceratops. Eric recently attended a Dino Trail meeting in Ekalaka at Carter County Museum where he showed a presentation. We are still attempting to get on the Dino Trail. We haven’t yet been approved.
We don’t charge an entrance fee, so we will always accept donations to improve the museum. You can also donate by purchasing a membership. We are still looking for volunteers for the hours we are open to the public. If you are interested contact Shelly at RSVP (Retired Senior Volunteer Program )at 323-2403.
We still have the kid’s game to identify where the toy dinosaurs are hidden in the main building. The difference is those dinosaurs have mysteriously moved to other locations!
Come visit the museum this summer at 524 1st St. West and learn some local history.
