Seen Around Town

Please be aware of another correction to information printed last week. My error entirely. Apologies to all involved in bringing this annual event to Roundup.

To err is human, a common fault.

"The Roundup Arts and Culture Committee brings 'Shakespeare in the Parks' to Roundup. Roundup Arts and Culture is an independent Committee of the Musselshell Valley Community Foundation."

Bonnie Dedmore, our local State Farm Insurance agent, held a customer appreciation picnic the other day. Bonnie is in Roundup on Tuesdays and Thursdays, and then in her office in Billings on other days.

Bonnie has been coming to Roundup for 11 years. She's been an agent for State Farm for, as she put it, "many years". Like their ads say, "Like a good neighbor...". Thanks, Bonnie, for all you do for Roundup.

All this hullabaloo about the increase in the Refuse site prices. Well, here are the dirty facts:

We create 30-42% more waste than a year ago.

More waste means more trips by Republic to haul it away. We pay them for each trip.

Our contract with Republic had its rates increased by 61% this year.

The last rate increase was ten years ago.

Bottom line, we still are cheaper than most counties in Montana when it comes to dealing with all that waste.
