Local Post Master is also a Chainsaw Artist

Roundup has so many varied talents in its community. Roundup's Postmaster, Sandy Schrumpf, works tirelessly during the day to get everyone's mail and packages delivered and manage the post office. She then goes home, fires up her chain saw, and starts carving. For relaxation. While this may not seem like everyone's type of stress relief, for Sandra it is. She took the hobby up for that singular purpose a few years ago, and has been carving every sense. She has sold many carvings, and donated to fundraisers. She can carve just about anything, but some of her favorite sellers are bears, trees, and snowmen. She also has carved crosses, turtles, gnomes, and various other things. Her process begins by "blocking" her tree, cutting the tree in to smaller pieces. Then she trims, shapes, puts in lines, sands, and finally wood burning or painting is the final step. Sandy is sometimes found with her carvings at a craft fair or market show. She can be reached through Messenger on Facebook or by email at [email protected], for those interested in her work.
