Hosted by Janet Hamil, Dale Alger, and Peggy Unterseher, this month's Memory Café was held at the Musselshell Valley Historical Museum in Roundup.
Due to the extreme heat, the hosts graciously put together memorabilia and artifacts in the cool, accessible basement of the Museum.
Though it was sparsely attended, guests thoroughly enjoyed the discussions about the Great Montana Centennial Cattle drive of 1989, had a good laugh about the Green Acres Restaurant menu prices...and longed for the days when a broiled lobster only cost $3.50, and one could enjoy a "Pink Squirrel" beverage.
Also of note was a detailed picture of Charter Members of the Museum Mary Morrsanny (sp?) who, with her husband Bert, ran a Mercantile and a Post Office in Rothiemay, and Willa Dale Evans, a Rancher south of the Snowies, sharing a cup of tea and good gossip!
Thank you to our hosts for such an enjoyable "cool" morning. All are invited to visit the museum, what a treasure! Open Mon-Fri from 1-5 p.m. There is no admission fee, but donations are gratefully accepted.
Memory Café is sponsored by Area II Agency on Aging on the fourth Wednesday of the month, at 10:30 a.m., It is typically held in the MSU Extension building across from the City Park and is a wonderfully welcoming place for individuals with cognitive decline, family members, and caregivers.
