June 28, 2024 Minutes
The meeting was called to order at 8:30 by Commissioner Turley. Commissioner Pancratz and Commissioner Goffena were present.
Pledge of Allegiance.
Commissioner Pancratz made the motion to approve the agenda as is. Commissioner Goffena seconded the motion. Motion carried.
Commissioner Goffena made the motion to approve the minutes from the June 21, 2024 meeting as written. Commissioner Pancratz seconded the motion. Motion carried.
Public Comment on Several Budget Amendments. No Public Comment.
Commissioner Goffena made the motion to sign Resolution 2024-20 For several Budget Amendments. Commissioner Pancratz seconded the motion. Motion carried.
Commissioner Pancratz made the motion to sign Resolution 2024-21 to receive the Montana Department of Agriculture Grant for the Toadflax Project in the amount of $26,658.00 submitted by Weed Coordinator Beck. Commissioner Goffena seconded the motion. Motion carried.
Commissioner Goffena made the motion to sign Resolution 2024-22 to receive the Montana Department of Transportation Grant to construct the Goffena Bridge in the amount of $589, 138.00 submitted by the County Road Department. Commissioner Pancratz seconded the motion. Motion carried.
Commissioner Pancratz made the motion to sign the Joint Application for Proposed work In Montana’s Streams, Wetlands, Floodplains and other water bodies submitted by the DEQ. Commissioner Goffena seconded the motion. Motion carried.
Commissioner Goffena made the motion to sign the Northwestern Energy Customer Agreement & Easement for an underground powerline in Section 24, Township 8 North, Range 25 East. Commissioner Pancratz seconded the motion. Motion carried.
Commissioner Pancratz made the motion to sign the Letter of Support for Homes on the Range Housing Authority for a PAR Grant. Commissioner Goffena seconded the motion. Motion carried.
The Commissioners will not be meeting on July 5, 2024.
Hospital Board meeting minutes were done by Commissioner Turley.
All Commissioners attended the Roundup Memorial Hospital (RMH) Board meeting June 27, 2024. RMH has been notified that their grant funded bus has been received. This vehicle will allow assisted living seniors to be transported to Billings Clinic if necessary. A qualified driver position will be advertised. Master Plan Building Improvement was also discussed. Musselshell County Commissioners expressed their support for RMH funding Master Plan Building projects and the Hospital in general subject to lending / funding requirements are met. RMH budget and financials remain positive, particularly due to reduced contract nursing. Roundup Memorial continues to be in a very positive situation.
All Commissioners had a Zoom meeting for the Wier Building on Monday June24, 2024 to go over the abatement estimate.
Commissioner Turley attended the Refuse Board meeting on Tuesday June 25, 2024. They will be doing 2 public meeting regarding the rate increase. Terry Frost is now the Chairman of the Refuse Board.
Maintenance Supervisor Jett gave her report to the Commissioners
All Commissioner did Claims on Wednesday June 26, 2024. Claims = $118,654.90.
Will Donahue the fairgrounds maintenance worker met with the Commissioners to ask about renting some extra porta potties at the campgrounds for the 4th of July Holiday and the hot water tank in the grandstands. The Commissioners agreed to all matters.
Sheriff Lesnik gave his weekly report to the Commissioners. Filling, retaining and raises for positions were discussed. Sheriff Lesnik attended Deputy Ernests graduation from the academy on Tuesday June 25, 2024. The new coroner’s truck is here. The department is getting ready for the 4th Celebrations.
DES Coordinator Rook gave his weekly report to the Commissioners. The 4 fire trucks should be arriving today. Tuesday June 25, 2024. Mr. Rook attended the State DES District meeting. Burning is shut down for the day die to the high winds.
There being no further business Commissioner Pancratz made the motion to adjourn for the day. Commissioner Goffena seconded the motion. Motion carried.
