The Central Montana Community Cupboard (CMCC) is pleased to announce that it has been awarded a charitable grant from the Otto Bremer Trust. The grant will be used to purchase essential food items such as canned goods, fresh produce, dairy products and meat, all of which will be distributed to individual families in need across Fergus, Petroleum, Judith Basin, and Wheatland counties.
“The Otto Bremer Trust will significantly aid in our efforts to provide food security,” noted Val Snapp, Board Member, with CMCC. “Donations vary from month to month making it difficult to sustain a continual supply of food to accommodate the needs of the community.”
As a nonprofit organization, CMCC relies on monetary and food donations as well as grant funding, to keep the food bank open. Due to today’s economic struggles and rising food prices, donations have considerably decreased and the number of clients has increased. The grant for the Otto Bremer Trust will ensure CMCC can continue to carry out our mission, “serving Central Montana by collecting and distributing food to families and individuals facing emergency situations”.
The Central Montana Community Cupboard is both blessed and grateful to be a recipient of this grant. The funds received will provide food security for several months, allowing us to keep our shelves stocked and continue to support clients of our four -county area. Monetary or food donations are welcome year-round and support the work this 501C3 does across the four-county area surrounding Lewistown.
The heart of the Cupboard are the volunteers who collect, account for, and distribute the food to those in need. We rely on the generosity of the Central Montana Community to donate money and food so that we may help those in need.
