Winnett Senior News-Flatwillow News

The October meeting of Flatwillow Homemakers was on October 8 at Ginger’s home. She made a delicious beef stew, and everyone filled in with sides. We had delicious salads and breads and desserts to go along with our stew. Roll call was a fun trivia game of sorts for us. We had to use the first letter of our first name to describe ourselves. It was fun to think about what we thought of ourselves using that one letter. Ginger read the thought for the day titled “A Women’s Poem.” There were no birthdays to celebrate in October.

The Minutes and Treasurer’s reports from September were approved. Melody motioned, Kim seconded, motion carried. Melody mentioned she had several homemaker quilts at her guest house. They are stored there and easily accessible if anyone wants to see them.

There was a lot of discussion about table favors for the senior citizens for Halloween. After talking about several ideas, the motion was made to make bats with peanut butter cups, chocolate Oreos cut in half, and edible eyes. Raye Anne made the motion, Babs seconded, motion carried. Our next meeting will be November 12 at Luann’s home. She is having a traditional Thanksgiving meal with turkey, mashed potatoes and gravy. We will all bring our favorite Thanksgiving sides to go with the meal. There will be opportunity table and exchange of secret sister gifts. Sandy Gonzalez, Linda Gershmel, Luann Knutson, Ginger Moore, Kim Tarplee, Babs Tetrault, Melody Whitcher, guest Ella Iverson, and Raye Anne Lund all enjoyed a girls day at Ginger’s. Hope everyone has a wonderful Halloween. See you next month.
