In the depths of winter's icy gloom,
When daylight fades and flowers no longer bloom,
Seasonal depression takes its toll,
Weary hearts and weary souls.
But hope still lingers in the air,
Amidst the chill and dark despair,
For there are ways to light the way,
And keep the darkness at bay.
Seek the warmth of friendly faces,
Embrace the light in familiar places,
Find solace in the songs of birds,
And the beauty of nature's words.
Take a walk, breathe the crisp, cold air,
Feel the earth beneath, the world to share,
Let the sun upon your face,
And find comfort in its warm embrace.
Reach out to those who lend an ear,
Speak of sorrow, speak of fear,
For in sharing, burdens ease,
And the heart finds its release.
Remember, in the coldest night,
Stars still shimmer, eternally bright,
And just as they light the sky above,
Love and hope can kindle warmth and love.
