HELENA – Superintendent Arntzen is excited to launch MontanA+ for math and reading teachers. MontanA+ is a groundbreaking opportunity designed to invest in math and English Language Arts, or reading, instruction for Montana teachers. This innovative initiative starts with a brief, 12-minute professional learning needs inventory, which helps educators assess and prioritize professional development opportunities that will have the greatest impact on both their students' success and their own professional growth. Upon completing the inventory, educators will receive tailored insights to guide their next steps.
"MontanA+ is a personalized professional learning tool to boost teacher confidence in math and reading instruction," said Superintendent Arntzen. "The 2023-2024 summative assessment scores showed that 44% of our students were proficient in reading and 39% were proficient in math. I encourage all Montana teachers to take advantage of this great opportunity to build a stronger foundation for student success."
Educators can explore the Office of Public Instruction's (OPI) rich array of resources, engage in self-directed learning, or collaborate with school leadership teams to craft personalized professional development plans. This flexible and supportive approach ensures that educators can address their unique learning needs while aligning their growth with the goals of their classrooms. To further support educators, the OPI is continuously expanding the Montana Teacher Learning Hub with new courses and enhanced resources.
